Lyme Regis enjoyed a bustling festive boost as Lyme’s Big Christmas Weekend attracted increased footfall across the town, with many local businesses reporting strong trading as shoppers took advantage of special offers.
The event, organised by Love Lyme Regis, This is Lyme and Visit Lyme Regis in partnership with Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival, The Town Mill and local businesses, saw festive attractions draw large crowds. 1,200 people attended the Christmas Tree Festival at the Baptist Church, Santa’s Grotto was fully booked (see yesterday's post for photos), and Christmas makers’ markets at The Town Mill and the The Royal Lion Hotel, Lyme Regis were a hive of activity. Lyme Morris entertained shoppers in Broad Street.
Meanwhile, votes are currently being counted in the keenly contested Best Dressed Window Competition, with the winner set to be announced tomorrow.
