Landmarks : Hilary Buckley

Dates for next event to be confirmed

Hilary has exhibited ten times with Colour Line & Thread since 2011 at the Town Mill, but after a hugely successful first solo exhibition in 2023, she returns as a solo exhibitor again this year with her new exhibition Landmarks.

This exhibition is inspired by the colours and patterns of the landscape of Dorset and the Jurassic coast, especially when viewed from above, where you can see the wonderful patchwork and colours of the fields and coastline.

Hilary always enjoyed art at school, but it was not until she moved to Lyme Regis from Berkshire in 2007 that she took up her paint brushes again. She joined local art groups and classes, trying out different media, including watercolours, oil pastels, soft pastels, acrylic, oils and collage.  She loves Art Deco, and this has inspired her to paint the varying patterns and shapes of the local landscape in her own graphic style.

As well as her original work, there will also be cards, prints and calendars available for sale.

The exhibition runs from Monday 22 July until Friday 2 August and is open daily from 10am until 5pm. Admission is free of charge.
