There is plenty of family fun at the Town Mill over the summer with three special days in August dedicated to children finding out all about flour milling and baking with flour produced at the Mill.

See the huge water wheel turning and come and watch the Millers at work during daily flour milling demonstrations, then try some summer bakes made with Town Mill flour, tastings available daily. There are activity sheets for kids to fill in as they look around the Mill, with things to look out for, colouring in and quizzes and pick up some easy bake family recipes to take away and try at home or while you are on holiday.

No booking required and entry to the Mill is free of charge but please consider supporting the Mill with a donation and shop purchase before you go! Thank you.

Mini Miller Experience Upgrade

During your visit why not join the very special mini milling experience at just £8.00 per child.

Children will receive a bag of grain which they will hand mill, using a mini stone-ground milling machine to produce their own bag of wholemeal wheat flour to take away. After the milling is complete, they will add a sticker with their name on the flour bag and take away their flour, along with a recipe and cookie cutter to bake dinosaur biscuits at home!

The Mini Miller Experience is suitable for school age children and they must be accompanied by an adult (no ticket required). Please allow up to 45 minutes for the session.

The experience includes a mini milling session, 150g wholemeal wheat flour, biscuit recipe and dinosaur cookie cutter.

Sessions will run at 11am, 12:30pm and 2pm over the three days. Booking is not essential, but to guarantee a place it is advisable to prebook.
