There is plenty of family fun at the Town Mill over the October half term with two special days of spooky activities especially for children for Halloween.
Find out all about flour milling and baking with flour produced at the Mill. See the huge water wheel turning and come and watch the Millers at work during daily flour milling demonstrations. Free activity sheets will be available for children to fill in during their visit, so watch out for the friendly Town Mill ghost travelling through the Mill on the ancient sack hoist and spot the Halloween Monsters as you look around. Come along ready to scare in a spooky Halloween costume!
The tasting table will be available from 11am until 1:30pm where you can sample some ghostly Halloween bakes made with the Mill's own wholemeal flour. Halloween baking kits will also be available to purchase in the shop.
No booking required and entry to the Mill is free of charge but please consider supporting the Mill with a donation and shop purchase before you go! Thank you.
Mini Monster Miller Experience Upgrade
During your visit why not join one of the three exclusive Mini Monster Miller sessions for £12.50 per child.
Children will receive a bag of grain which they will hand mill, using a mini stone-ground milling machine to produce their own bag of wholemeal wheat flour to take away and make Halloween biscuits at home.
The experience will also include a visit to the Mill to see the friendly Town Mill ghost and a mini monster cupcake to enjoy, made with Town Mill flour.
The Mini Miller Experience is suitable for school age children and they must be accompanied by an adult (no ticket required). Please allow up to 1 hour for the session.
The experience includes a mini milling session, 300g wholemeal wheat flour, biscuit recipe and Halloween cookie cutter.
Sessions will run at 10am, 11:30am and 1:30pm over the two days. Booking is not essential, but to guarantee a place it is advisable to prebook.
