After showcasing her work at this year’s Lyme Regis Art Society annual exhibition, Terry Coverdale brings her first solo exhibition to the Malthouse Gallery this September.

Now retired from a career as a freelance knitwear designer and lecturer in art and design, her art reflects her background as a textile and fashion designer, aiming to create the essence of movement through layers of loose expressive mark making and printed texture and pattern. 

Although she has lived and worked on different continents, she now finds constant inspiration from West Dorset and this new collection of work reflects her love of her immediate environment, primarily her garden and Charmouth beach. The sea influences much of her work; she is fascinated by the patterns created by the refraction of light on the tide line pebbles and the reflections under the bridge over the river Char.

The exhibition runs from Friday 19 until Thursday 25 September and is open daily from 10:30am until 5:30pm. Admission is free of charge.
