Take a journey into Lyme’s past and discover the seaside town's rich history on one of the museum's Guided Town History Walks.
After a career in Stage, Studio & Television Lighting and Machinery, Fred retired to Lyme Regis some 20 years ago, with an abiding interest in Lyme’s long, varied and fascinating history.
Fred’s guided walk blends snippets of its colourful historic past, interposed with illustrated views of how much Lyme has been, and continues to be used for film and television productions (at least 20) over the years, and some examples of how film makers used Lyme to represent times both in Lyme’s history, fact and fiction, and sometimes somewhere else entirely.
The walk lasts about 90 minutes and includes photographs of the ‘before and after’, and some stills of the films themselves. The tour avoids most of Lyme’s challenging inclines. Please meet outside the museum 5 minutes before the walk.
Adult tickets cost £7.95, child tickets cost £4.95. The ticket price also includes entry to the museum.
