Omega sunset from the Cobb Lyme Regis
Spectacular 'omega' sunset viewed from the Cobb. As the sun descends a second mirage 'sun' rises from the water and the two eventually join to appear like a Greek letter omega.
The lower mirage sun is produced by refraction caused by a layer of warmer and less dense air close to the sea surface.
