Local Generosity Shines as Harvest Home Auction Raises Record £2,074 for Lyme Regis Christmas Lights

Monday 17th November 2025

A record £2,074 was raised yesterday afternoon at the Harvest Home Auction at The Volunteer Inn  on Broad Street, with all proceeds going towards Lyme Regis Christmas lights.

The pub was packed as bidders enthusiastically competed for items ranging from meal vouchers at local restaurants to homemade quiches. Auctioneer Simon “Fluxy” Flux kept the crowd entertained, creating a lively atmosphere filled with laughter.

The Christmas Lights Committee, made up entirely of volunteers, works tirelessly throughout the year to fund and organise the town’s festive display. They expressed their gratitude to the community and local businesses, whose generous donations made the auction such a big success.

The big switch-on of the Christmas lights will take place on Saturday 22nd November at 5pm.
