Lyme Regis Gig Club

Founded in 2007, Lyme Regis Gig Club is an ocean rowing club which enables the local community to take part in the rapidly growing sport of Cornish Pilot Gig Rowing. The Club also offers members SeaFit, a year round, dry-land training facility equipped with ergo rowing machines and weights.

The gig club has 3 beautiful wooden boats, Rebel, Black Ven and Tempest all built by local boat builder Gail McGarva. There is also Revenge, a plastic training boat and a skiff rowing boat call Gale Force, launched in 2013, which is used by the younger rowers in our successful youth section

The aim of the club is to offer the sport of Cornish Pilot Gig Rowing to anybody who wishes to try ocean rowing, and by doing so, encouraging fitness and spirit within the community. They are always on the look out for new members of all ages, so if you are interested in making some new friends, seeing Lyme Bay from a different perspective, getting a bit fitter and possibly participating in organised racing regattas in Dorset, Devon and Cornwall, make contact with them via their website.
