Marie Curie Collectors in Lyme Regis Raise Impressive £2,089.72

Saturday 4th April 2026

Volunteers supporting Marie Curie in Lyme Regis have celebrated a highly successful weekend of fundraising, raising an impressive £2,089.72 during the charity’s Great Daffodil Appeal street collection.

The total sets a new local record, beating the 2024 figure by £8.00. Local coordinator Susan Gale praised the efforts of the volunteer collectors, who were out and about across the town offering the charity’s iconic daffodil pins in return for donations.

She also highlighted the remarkable generosity of both residents and holidaymakers, describing the community spirit over the weekend as exceptional.

The Great Daffodil Appeal is one of Marie Curie’s most important annual fundraising events. The charity relies heavily on public support to fund its dedicated nurses, who provide essential frontline care for people living with terminal illness—often in the comfort of their own homes.

Supporters are encouraged to wear their daffodil pins with pride, helping raise awareness as well as vital funds for this important cause.
