Preparations for Lyme Regis Regatta and Carnival Week gathered pace last night as volunteers from the carnival team erected the popular mural boards along the seafront.
The Great Lyme Regis Mural is one of Carnival Week's best-loved attractions, giving residents and visitors of all ages the chance to leave their artistic mark. For just £2, participants receive four blobs of different coloured acrylic paint, choose a brush and find a blank space on the mural to create their own masterpiece. Over the years, thousands of colourful paintings have transformed the boards into a unique community artwork.
Carnival Week gets underway on Friday evening with a spectacular fireworks display at 9.30pm, launched from the Cobb and lighting up the skies above Lyme Regis. The display marks the start of a packed week of entertainment, family activities and fundraising events for local good causes.
