Local resident Nigel Ball who has recently published From Roots to Rhymes, a heartfelt collection of poems inspired by his lifelong passions for horticulture and poetry.
After many years away from writing, Nigel rediscovered his love of poetry during the COVID-19 pandemic. While his wife was undergoing cancer treatment, creative writing became a source of comfort, reflection and therapy, helping him navigate an incredibly challenging time.
From Roots to Rhymes is a deeply personal collection exploring local people and places, treasured memories, emotions and everyday moments. From spectacular sunrises and the wildlife found in the garden to family life and human connections, Nigel's poems are filled with warmth, humour and thoughtful reflection.
The book is available for £6 from The Fox & Owl on Broad Street, Lyme Regis, or you can contact Nigel directly by email at roots2rhymes@gmail.com.
Congratulations to Nigel on publishing his first collection, we wish him every success with From Roots to Rhymes.
