A good crowd turned out to wave off Lyme Regis resident Nigel Ball and family yesterday morning as they set off from the Slipway of Lyme Regis harbour on a journey to Dorset County Hospital. Nigel was driving his vintage 1960 Fordson Dexta tractor on a route via Charmouth, Whitchurch, Morcombelake, Chideock, Bridport, West Bay, Burton Bradstock, Abbotsbury, Portesham, Hardy Monument, Martinstown and Poundbury.
The tractor run was in aid of Axminster and Lyme Cancer Support and Fortuneswell Cancer Trust, both of which helped his family through really challenging times.
Cllr Philip Evans, Mayor of Lyme Regis, made a short speech before Lyme Regis Town Crier Alan Vian led Nigel along the seafront.
Dorchester Town Crier Anthony Harrison welcomed Nigel to Poundbury.
Nigel completed his journey by delivering posies of flowers to Dorset County Hospital.
