Over 6,500 come through the doors of Lyme Regis Visitor Hub

Staffed entirely by volunteers and supported with a grant from Lyme Regis Town Council, the Visitor Hub in the Jubilee Pavilion on the seafront provides a warm welcome to visitors, answering queries and sharing information about local events and attractions.

The Hub was the brainchild of Alan Vian, Town Crier and local community champion, who recognised the need for such a facility with the town not having a Tourist Information Centre.

Since Easter, over 6,500 visitors have stopped by, asking a wide variety of questions — from tips on local fossil hunting to what’s on in town. Requests for copies of the town map have also proven incredibly popular.

Alan is supported by Rob James and Karen Skardon James of Love Lyme Regis / Visit Lyme Regis, as well as Dolores Holywood-Plant, who coordinates the volunteers.

Do you enjoy meeting people?

If so, the Visitor Hub would love to hear from you! Volunteer shifts are just 2 hours long, and good communication skills and local knowledge are a plus.

To get involved, please email lymeregisvisitorhub@gmail.com or message via the Lyme Regis Visitor Hub social media pages.
