Lyme Regis fell silent this morning as residents gathered to mark Remembrance Sunday.
A parade involving members of the Royal British Legion, veterans, civic party, Lyme Regis RNLI, Lyme Regis Coastguards, Lyme Regis Fire Crew, Rotary Club of Lyme Regis, the Powder Monkeys Explorer Sea Scout Unit, Lyme Regis Majorettes, and Lyme Regis Pantomime Society made its way through Broad Street, Bridge Street, and Church Street towards St Michael’s Parish Church, where a special service of remembrance was held.
Just before 11 a.m., the parade re-assembled and proceeded down to Cobb Gate, where the community gathered for the two-minute silence in honour of those who gave their lives in conflict.
The Last Post was sounded by Ellis Holt of Lyme Regis Town Band, marking a solemn and heartfelt moment shared by residents, visitors, and local dignitaries alike.
The service concluded with Lyme Regis Town Band playing the National Anthem.
