Lyme Regis RNLI today took part in a fundraising walk to launch celebrations for the RNLI's 200th anniversary year.

Starting from the Lyme Regis Lifeboat Station, the walk proceeded along Marine Parade to the clock at Cobb Gate before returning. The team managed a collective total of 335 laps amounting to approximately 130 miles.

One of the organisers, senior helm Tim Edwards, said: “Originally the plan was for one person to do the walk, then we realised that would take around 30 hours so we decided on teams of four with each member’s lap counting towards the total.”
