Lyme Regis Charity Sleigh raises £1,530 for three local causes

Saturday 13th December 2025

Lyme Regis, Uplyme and Charmouth came out in force to see Santa on his sleigh, helping to raise an impressive £1,530 while spreading festive cheer to local children.

The funds raised will be split equally between the Lyme Regis Town Band, the Lyme Regis Pantomime Society and the Marine Youth Theatre.

This marks the 24th year that Sarah and Neville Causley of Causley Cabs, and their family, have taken to the streets with Santa. They thanked Santa for once again sparing some of his precious time, along with John Rickard, Santa’s chief elf.

They also expressed their thanks to Otter Vale Motor Services for supplying a vehicle to tow the sleigh, and to Tom for arranging it. Further gratitude went to Tim Mayers of Sparkbrights for his continued support in loaning a music system, and to Martin Fowler of Fowlers Plant Hire for once again providing a generator.

Special thanks were given to the Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival for sponsoring the insurance costs every year. This year, the organisation also contributed extra funding to help replace parts of the sleigh that have become weather-worn, ensuring it can continue spreading joy for years to come.

A huge well done to everyone involved with Lyme Regis Charity Sleigh in making this year such a success.
