Spirits high at Lyme Regis Football Club despite a 4–0 defeat to Feniton

Sunday 21st December 2025
Spirits remained high at Lyme Regis Football Club yesterday afternoon despite a 4–0 defeat to Feniton. Following spells of wet weather and a waterlogged pitch, this was the team’s first fixture in a few weeks, a lack of match sharpness that inevitably impacted on performance.

However, a dogged and committed display ensured there were still positives to take from the game. Daley Holmes and Ethan Matthews both looked lively throughout, while man of the match was awarded to Dane James for his calmness and composure in defence.

Before kick-off, both teams observed a minute silence in memory of local residents Barry Cloud and Ken Howell.

Love Lyme Regis which also runs the This is Lyme Regis and Visit Lyme Regis brands, was proud to be the matchday sponsor and continues to support the club through its sponsorship of Lyme Regis Rovers team captain Jacob Denning.
The volunteer-run club sits at the heart of the local community and remains deeply woven into life in Lyme Regis. Attention now turns to the new year, with hopes of a return to winning ways when the team travel to face Ottery St Mary AFC Seconds on 3 January.
