A total of 1,287 ducks took to the River Lym at midday Thursday in a thrilling race to claim the elusive title of Duck Race Champion 2026 as part of Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival Week.
With the River Lym flowing at a leisurely pace, this year's race turned into a marathon rather than a sprint, resulting in a record slow winning time! Spectators lined the banks, cheering on their chosen ducks as they drifted towards the finish line.
The lucky winners were:
1st Place (£100): Duck 451 – Zoë Halstead
2nd Place (£50): Duck 93 – Emma Murphy
3rd Place (£20): Duck 298 – Harriet Stephens
Last Duck Home (£10): Duck 1251 – Susan Davies
Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to everyone who bought a duck and supported this much-loved Carnival tradition.
A big thank you to the in river team who ensured the ducks completed the course and were all collected at the end - Steve Parsons, Joey Thirlwell, Virgil Turner and Noah Turner.
