Lyme Bay Chorale and Musical Director Alex Davies are joined by professional soloists Mark Hounsell and soprano Philippa Hyde plus orchestra to present an exciting Gala Concert featuring major works by Handel and Haydn.
There is a special reason why this concert is of particular interest to local people, as Handel’s ‘Foundling Hospital Anthem’ was inspired by the work of Thomas Coram who was born in Coombe Street, Lyme Regis in 1668, close to St. Michael’s Church where the concert will take place. The concert will also feature a performance of Haydn’s glorious ‘Creation Mass’ known as Schöpfungsmesse.
The concert will take place at Lyme Regis Parish Church (St Michael the Archangel) on Sunday 11th May at 4pm.
Tickets cost £15 in advance and can be purchased from Fortnam, Smith and Banwell in Lyme Regis or from choir members. Tickets on the door will be £17. Under 18s are free. There will be an interval with drinks by donation.
