The Jubilee Pavilion is situated on Marine Parade on Lyme Regis seafront.
The building is used for various exhibitions and is currently home to Lyme Regis Visitor Hub, a welcome and information point for visitors.
It began life as a retaining wall constructed in 1900 with the central pavilion built in 1924, originally known as the Corporation Shelter.
What are known as the bays each side, the retaining wall for the gardens behind, were roofed in 1959 but 1962 saw a large landslip which engulfed the pavilion roof and led to its closure.
Renovations of the shelters took place in 2010 following a fundraising campaign including a 'Share in the Shelters' scheme which gave people the opportunity to own a stake in the project, by sponsoring elements ranging from paving slabs to a community room. Following the demolition and reconstruction of the old concrete shelters either side, the central pavilion reopened in July 2011 following extensive refurbishment.
The pavilion was named the Jubilee Pavilion on 20th May 2012 in honour of the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II.
