Lyme Regis Cemetery Chapel

This small Church of England chapel is a hidden Victorian gem, built in the 1850s in the Council Cemetery.

The beautiful internal decoration is characteristic of the Arts & Crafts movement and it is believed to originate from 1892, paid for by the vicar at that time, Reverend Charles Myers.

The elaborate wall decorations are a combination of wallpaper, stencil work and hand painting. The alabaster altar and Devonshire marble steps from 1892 remain in place.

In April 2019, Adrian Everitt of Bone Black in Bridport restored the decoration that had been damaged by water ingress and cracks on the walls.
