Nestled beside the Town Mill in Lyme Regis, John and Georgina took over the Millside in November 2019 and have set out to create an easy-going, predominantly seafood and fish based restaurant, with meat, vegan and vegetarian options featuring on a locally sourced menu. Most dishes can be adapted for those with gluten and dairy allergies or intolerances. They also offer a crowd-pleasing children's menu and are dog friendly.
The Millside has gained a reputation of unrivalled excellence for both food and service and is the only restaurant in Lyme Regis to be awarded two AA rosettes in 2022, as well as a gold award from Taste Of The West, Higher Membership in the prestigious Trencherman’s Guide and Restaurant and Business Of The Year in the Lyme Online Awards. They also featured and were reviewed in the Food Magazine Summer issue.
In the Summer, the sunny terrace is perfect with a glass of chilled Provence Rosé in hand and the sound of the River Lym. If you arrive early, stop at Lyme Regis Brewery opposite for a craft beer or local gin. In the Winter, at a candlelit table under the beams in the restaurant, stay a little longer with an Espresso Martini before braving the cold, or let them book you a trusted local taxi.
