Around 1,500 hardy participants braved the chilly waters for the Lyme Lunge today, the New Year’s Day fancy dress sea dip organised by the Rotary Club of Lyme Regis. Thousands of spectators lined the seafront and filled the gardens to enjoy the colourful spectacle.
This year’s event was held in support of The Rainbow Trust, which helps families with children aged 0–18 facing life-threatening or terminal illnesses, and WellChild, a national UK charity that supports seriously ill children to be cared for at home.
Members of RNLI Lyme Regis were in the water throughout the event to ensure it passed safely.
