Thursday 16th April 2026

Lyme Regis Rovers delivered an outstanding performance with a commanding 4–0 victory over second-placed Dowlish Wake & Donyatt at the Davey Fort yesterday evening, underlining their strength and cohesion as a team.

The hosts set the tone early on, controlling possession and dictating the pace of the game. Their pressure paid off when Sam Merigaux confidently converted from the penalty spot. From there, the momentum stayed firmly with Lyme Regis with Alex Burrough adding to the tally with a well-taken goal and Josh Axbey put the result beyond doubt with an impressive brace, showcasing clinical finishing and attacking intent.

At the other end of the pitch, the defensive unit was equally impressive. Captain Jacob Denning, sponsored by Love Lyme Regis, led by example, delivering a commanding and composed performance at the back.

Goalkeeper Alex Staker capped off the performance with a clean sheet and was awarded Man of the Match. His assured handling and key interventions helped maintain the shutout, rounding off a near-perfect display for the home side.

Overall, it was a brilliant all-round performance from Lyme Regis Rovers, who dominated for long spells with a well-organised defence, sharp attacking play, and relentless work rate—securing a fully deserved three points.
